Day 30 The Long Flight Home

Last night we checked on the car service that we ordered to make sure it was ready for today and found out that they hadn't ordered one. The lady that was working the desk said she would try to order one but didn't know if one would be available. In the morning today we went down to the desk to see if there is one available and the same guy who was supposed to have ordered one the day before was there. 'Did you order one?' he asked, and I told him that he was the one who helped us and he was the one who is supposed to order one. We told him the lady last night was going to try to get us one. He couldn't figure out if there was one or not so he said he would call us a taxi if needed. So we went on to breakfast. Afterwards we went up to our room and fiddled around for a bit and went down half an hour before we wanted a ride in case checking out was a problem or a line. No line, and car service was there.  We are glad we left a bit early there was a lot of traffic. Our driver was very nice. He got us to the Delta counter and we unloaded our bags. Or feels so much lighter to just have the carry on. We went to the Swiss port lounge for an hour of relaxation before we can board. It wasn't crowded when we arrived but a bunch of people arrived shortly after us.

We migrated down to the gate area and our passports got checked again.
The Delta app texted us that our bags are aboard.

Our seats are very nice!

We got delayed for take-off by 30 min. We had specialty meals that were really good. Mine vegetarian, Paul's diabetic. The seats fully reclined to beds and we were next to each other. The flight was 10 hrs. The pilot landed on time. We had 2 hours in Atlanta before departing to San Diego. They were slow at getting bags off our flight. We were supposed to be sky priority and off first because we rode in first class, but no, they may have loaded them first but they took them off last. After we collected bags there was passport control, but no customs. We just had to collect our bags and lug them to the next room, resubmit them again to domestic baggage control, and go thru security again. There was no TSA precheck line. They were boarding our flight to San Diego before we got thru security. Then we had to catch a train to a different terminal. And then find our gate. We made it with not much time to spare.

This flight fed us also. Mine again vegetarian and Paul's diabetic. Paul didn't eat. The seats didn't recline. They didn't give us blankets or pillows. We had in flight wi-fi so I let Cate know we made all our connections and can pick up Braun tomorrow. Confirmed Chris can pick us up.

Trip review
Best thing-Paul liked the mosque cathedral, Join liked climbing a volcano on my birthday.
Worst thing-Paul- medallion fubar, some of the shore excursions
Joi - medallion fubar, getting colds
Thing we learned-Paul-being more critical of shore excursions descriptions. Joi -I like riding first class.
Thing we did right- our trip planning.
Thing we did wrong- couldn't think of anything.
Best food- all the food was great but Paul didn't like the fishy taste in the paella
Worst food- really all the food was good.
Best discovery- the cruise ship did have clean eating food you just had to look for it. Paul said Spain and Ephesus were interesting.
