Day 27 Mykonos Greece

This is our last day on the boat, so we have to settle our accounts, get our pictures, pack and go on our tour. It will be a busy day. In the morning I packed some of our stuff that we aren't going to be needing anymore like our dress up clothes and such. I went to a comedy cooking demonstration with the head chef and matre di and then a tour of the galley. Apparently there's 138 different ways they can cook potatoes. They put them all on display. They are cooking for 3800 guests and 1200 staff.

Then I went to clear our bill. Which wasn't bad.

Our tour in Mykonos doesn't start until noon and we get back at 7p.

Tour Description: Make the most of your day in Mykonos with this full-day Discovery Exclusive tour of this timeless island and all its treasures. Begin with a motorcoach ride along the southwest coast to the Agios Ioannis beach, home to soft sand and crystalline waters with panoramic views of the island of Delos. Then, stop at lovely Kalafatis Beach and take a short stroll in the sunshine. Continue to the charming village of Ano Mera for the graceful Panagia Tourliani Monastery, originally built in 1542, with its impressive architectural structure, whitewashed exterior and colorful dome. Back in Mykonos, step back in time at Lena's House, a re-creation home furnished with authentic antiques. Pause for lunch, then embark on a guided walking tour to see the area's most treasured landmarks, iconic windmills, Paraportiani Church and stylish shops. Remain in town to sightsee on your own or return to the ship.

Here is our day:

Mykonos is said to be a white washed town and truly all the buildings look white.

We caught our tender and sailed to shore. Boarded our bus and fell asleep on the journey to our first stop.
Mykonos is only 33 square miles.

We stopped at what they called a monastery, but it seemed to be a one room chapel.

Our next stop was a beach. We got to put our toes in the Med for the first time. The beach wasn't like our beaches and is very coarse sand, not ground down as fine as our sand. It is sharp on my feet.

Next, the bus took us back to where we started at the port. From there, we walked to Mykonos town and wandered through the little streets. It would be very easy to get lost here.

We got to see the windmills that are no longer in use

and then we ended up at a restaurant and we didn't realize we got lunch included on this trip. Then we wandered back to the port and caught the little tender boat back to the ship.

Again, I only see three ships in the port, not the six that they were telling us would be here. Still it's very people-y.

We went back, got desserts, showered, and did laundry. Then I went to an Abba trivia game.

We lost but it was fun
Then we played the battle of the sexes.
