We're off!
Hard time sleeping and got up at 4. Braun cuddled on the couch and we went for our walk at 5:30. Paul got up and started all his last minute things. Then the trek to Blossom Valley to drop off our buddy with Cate. Not much traffic but it is foggy.
Now it's off to put last minute laundry in the dryer, and get picked up. Check in was easy once we discovered the precheck line, or lack thereof. First time in a Delta SkyMiles lounge, wow!
I just got some oatmeal and coffee.
Oh they put out more fancy stuff now. There's dessert-y things in the Delta lounge.
I'm definitely spoiled for life now! We got a cookie and shared a pastry. We went to the gate about a half an hour before our flight and even found seats. Boarding was easy and we were offered water before take off.
In LAX we didn't have to leave security. There was a bus on the domestic side that took us over to the international terminal. Even after the bus ride, it was quite a hike and we both are well over our 10,000 steps. I found a little kiosk called the Farmer's Fridge and bought a wonderful salad in a jar. You dump it into a cardboard bowl and recycle the jar in the machine. Pretty nifty.
Our flight to Paris is on an Air France plane, but we thought it was Delta. Its actually a Delta/Air France codeshare flight.
Well we each have our own pod. Certainly more space than in cattle class, but chairs are aimed away from each other. To far to even touch. I can't turn to see Paul because it is too far to turn my head. Kind of isolating. Sort of a let down. I guess we will be glad to lie flat when it's time to sleep. We asked if we could have the middle 2 because it is designed to be together, but another couple is in the same situation we are over there. If we had known we could have chosen seats differently.
